The size of this unit allows for smaller pump, hoses, fuel/battery - but still performs like a larger unit. Looking forward to using it more this summer and getting some gold in the box! And my car gets 75mpg so that helps keep it fun too. Small enough I can even throw it in my car instead needing a truck or SUV. We often had two shovels going at once it it kept up admirably as long as we let the clays get fully washed before dropping in the next one.
I found that I wasn't really enjoying myself and didn't get out much because it was just so dang much work to get there and back. i already have a 4" dredge, a 12" wide Keene HB etc etc. Small and simple was the prime motivator for me.
